Your thoughtful contribution means a great deal to me and my students. It directly supports science education and our educational goals. Support from the community and families like you is truly invaluable.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the lifecycle of the insects, they got very excited and wanted to examine them. This made them so much more interested in the lesson. They were asking more questions and wanting to learn more. These resources provide students with hands-on learning experiences and enrich their daily education in a meaningful way. I was able to use the science borders on our bulletin to help decorate our room. I was able to use the chair socks on the chairs to protect the floors and quiet the classroom environment.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our students' education and future. I appreciate your commitment to fostering a vibrant and well equipped learning environment.","fullyFundedDate":1758928303038,"projectUrl":"project/science-rules/9523338/","projectTitle":"Science Rules!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Grillo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8664652_orig.jpg?crop=1477,1477,x1258,y127&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754009839572","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8664652"},{"teacherId":581077,"projectId":9219478,"letterContent":"I am so thankful for you! My classroom is filled with students learning with fun vocabulary games now! They are building confidence in themselves and their math knowledge. When they now go back into the core math class, they understand the words being used by the teacher and the students and they can progress.\r\n\r\nThey are also loving the games like SMATH that promotes high level thinking. We are using our place value mats, our games and all the materials to create thinkers with more confidence. As I stated in my project description, my students are from very low income homes, they don't really get very much outside of school. They come to school not only to learn, but to be loved, to eat breakfast, and to eat lunch. For many of my students this is the only time they get a complete meal and a hug. This project was used to provide encouragement, support, and incentives to all of my students while at the same time teaching them how to use toys as tools for learning. Watching them use these toys, gadgets, trinkets to encourage them to sound out words to pop the syllables in words to use the sticky slappers to slap out sounds to show phonemic awareness, and to use the spinners while they were sounding out and blending letter sounds together was amazing.","fullyFundedDate":1733157095390,"projectUrl":"project/christmas-in-our-room/8974906/","projectTitle":"Christmas in Our Room","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chapman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/783197"},{"teacherId":783197,"projectId":8712658,"letterContent":"My students love using these vocabulary workbooks every week! They draw pictures of the vocabulary words, act out their newly learned words by playing charades, have contests, and are learning concepts like synonyms, antonyms, homophones, and multiple meaning words. The activities are self checking so they don't have to wait for feedback to know if they understand. It has been a valuable addition to my classroom. With the majority of my students being ELL, the added vocabulary activities and ease of accountability students are working harder.","fullyFundedDate":1725826973383,"projectUrl":"project/power-up-your-vocabulary/8712658/","projectTitle":"Power Up Your Vocabulary","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chapman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/783197"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46093","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":418,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":85,"percentAsian":12,"percentBlack":20,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":47,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.8,"schoolId":46093,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Englewood Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Englewood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/duval-county-public-schools/englewood-elementary-school/46093"}
