Because of your donation of paper, pencils, labels, and cards, our media center was able to transform Literacy Week and STREAM Night into an immersive, hands-on learning experience for our students. Using these materials, we created a Mel Fisher–inspired pop-up museum and a Florida and American Revolution literary scavenger hunt that challenged students to dig deeply into nonfiction text features, analyze sources, and demonstrate strong reading comprehension skills. Over 200 students in grades 3–5 participated, actively engaging with history through reading, writing, and critical thinking.\r\n\r\nWhen students first encountered the pop-up museum and scavenger hunt stations, their excitement was immediate and contagious. Many were eager to grab a pencil and recording card and jump right in—reading captions, studying maps, examining timelines, and carefully searching texts for evidence to support their answers.
