My name is Sean Brosig. As a teacher of 25 years, I am always looking to make classroom activities more engaging. I had asked for a paper cutter, laminator and colorful paper and I have already put it all to good use, and will continue to do so for a long time to come!\r\nThe first three activities I created were break-out boxes. I have already purchased boxes and locks in the past few years. I used the colorful paper to print out clues and hint cards. The paper cutter has come in handy trimming them to the appropriate size. The laminator allows me to protect the clues so that I will be able to reuse them year after year.\r\nI have already created and used three different breakout boxes so far this year. One to engage my competitive MATHCOUNTS students, one for a Quarter 1 Benchmark Test Review, and a third for Solving systems of equations by graphing. I have a fourth one in the works to help the students prepare for the Midterm tests.\r\nThese engaging breakout boxes are made so much better by the donations I received from you! You should see the excitement and enthusiasm in which the students work to solve codes and unlock locks!\r\nHere are a few photos from these activities. I hope their smiles put a smile on your face, knowing that you have contributed to their learning experience.\r\nHave a fantastic day!!","fullyFundedDate":1756702373230,"projectUrl":"project/algebra-diy-activities/9669254/","projectTitle":"Algebra DIY Activities","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Brosig","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10234963"},{"teacherId":9113282,"projectId":9541682,"letterContent":"In my classroom, students enjoy participating and engaging in rotation stations. A healthy snack may seem like a small thing, but in our classroom, it makes a world of difference.\r\n\r\nEach day, I have the privilege of teaching bright, curious, and hardworking students who come to school eager to learn and grow. Yet, as we all know, learning takes energy. When students are hungry, it's harder for them to concentrate, stay engaged, and bring their best selves to class. With your support, our Super Snacks will provide that much-needed boost during long mornings of reading, writing, and problem-solving. When students are recognized for positive behavior, they receive a star punch on their big ticket, and then when they have received 3, they get to turn the knob on the candy machine, and receive their \"sweet\" reward! \r\n Students were naturally excited as soon as they saw the candy machine, as well as the oodles of candy just waiting for them to earn! Having individual copies allowed every student to engage with the novel closely. Because students had their own books, we were able to dive deeper into collaborative activities such as theme gallery walks, symbolism stations, and STEAL character analysis charts.\r\n\r\nThe novels also opened opportunities for meaningful discussions about identity, peer pressure, kindness, and what it means to stay true to yourself. Students connected personally to Stargirl's courage and Leo's struggles, which produced fun debates, reflective writing, and creative projects like one-pager assessments.\r\n\r\nOverall, this donation transformed our classroom by turning Stargirl into a shared experience. Students not only improved their reading comprehension and analysis skills, but also practiced empathy and perspective-taking through the lens of literature. Many of them have asked if we can watch the movie and read the sequel, Love, Stargirl, which shows just how engaged they became thanks to your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1752440177706,"projectUrl":"project/let-stargirl-inspire-us-to-be-bold-kind/9456586/","projectTitle":"Let Stargirl Inspire Us to Be Bold, Kind, and Unforgettable","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Puchalla","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10050045_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750979522338","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10050045"},{"teacherId":10008812,"projectId":9362637,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations that made it possible for our science class to receive a 3D printer.
