This has allowed our teachers to help provide direction on all of the functions of the calculators before taking the test. Our state testing occurs four times a year and is the best chance these students have to earn the passing score required for graduation: September, December, May, and July. Next week, these students will take the BEST Algebra 1 End-of-Course Exam and the BEST Geometry End-of-Course Exam. The teachers have had months to prepare the students on the content and now, the calculators' functions. We are hoping for an increase in the number of passing scores because of your generosity. Being a student in a Drop-Out Prevention program can affect their self-esteem. But these teachers pour their heart and souls into building up the kids in hopes of them earning a diploma at the end. Again, your donation will impact this school for years to come. The gift we received will last me until winter break and the kids have loved all of the treats and healthy snacks. My students are all low income and many are food insecure and to have these things on-hand for hungry kiddos and for rewards has been a blessing. \r\n\r\nI am including 2 photos. One is of me by the sticker chart I use as the reward system and then the other picture is of a few of my students with \"thank you\" over their faces. \r\nWithout your generous donation to my classroom this would not have been possible.\r\n\r\nThank you from an appreciative teacher and students,","fullyFundedDate":1757299939660,"projectUrl":"project/positive-behavior-treats-for-alt-schools/9692093/","projectTitle":"Positive Behavior Treats for Alt Schools","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Turner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8790164_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756758146480","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8790164"},{"teacherId":10189326,"projectId":9623876,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation which allowed me to purchase much-needed supplies for my English Language Arts classroom. The thermal laminator and laminating pouches have been especially helpful for creating vocabulary and concept cards that keep students engaged during sorting activities and games. We also use these cards during a \"speed dating\" discussion activity, where students rotate partners to explore each question together and develop oral language skills. \r\n\r\nThe dry-erase pockets have been a valuable tool for small-group activities. Students can write their answers, receive feedback, and make corrections easily as we work on skills they need to develop. Students enjoy the novelty of using the dry-erase pockets and markers rather than always using paper. Using the pockets also helps save paper.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the small notebooks have supported our vocabulary acquisition. We are studying Greek and Latin roots and the words that contain these roots, so we use the notebooks to record definitions, draw visualizations, and create word webs. We use them as small rewards in our daily behavior system. Students earn treats for safe choices, finishing work, and giving their best effort on state assessments.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes arrived, the kids were thrilled and helped unpack and organize everything. We set clear expectations for how to earn the rewards, and since then we've seen fewer behavior issues and smoother transitions between break and work times. Because our program is self-paced, these motivating rewards help students stay on task and keep a positive learning environment.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity. I have started to make copies of the moon phase wheel, and the 2026 moon calendar. \r\nThe STEAM EXPO for our county is Saturday January 31 2026. We have 100's of students and parents attend the event. \r\nMy theme is \"Return to the Moon\" and I will have a booth and a place for the students to put together their own moon phase wheel. At my booth I will have a section for Apollo. I plant to have a 60 inch pathway poster, Saturn V model, and the model of the lunar lander. I have a few other Apollo things to display as well. I will also have a display for Artemis including the Artemis II and III posters. I hope to have a model of the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft. I plan to have a large tennis ball half painted black for students to walk around to demonstrate the moon phases. \r\nWhen students are done visiting the booth they will see me since each student needs a punch on the card and I will then give them the 2026 moon phases calendar. ON the back of the calendar will be an Artemis sticker.\r\nI have some moon posters to give away at the end of session raffle. I hope to get other donations, especially from Firefly which recently landed Blue Ghost on the surface of the moon.\r\nI have some time to think about my actual setup. The moon phases dial is excellent and I think I will get great feedback on this simple device.\r\nI also teach an elective Astronomy class at our school and will have each student make a moon phase wheel. I also do plenty of telescope viewings downtown and will be sure to give the 2026 moon calendar to students that look through the telescope. \r\nI really appreciate your donation and I will continue to promote astronomy since I \r\nreally enjly the interaction with students and adults.","fullyFundedDate":1757599413642,"projectUrl":"project/return-to-the-moon/9699950/","projectTitle":"Return to the Moon","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3760891_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1473417764602","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3760891"},{"teacherId":1463789,"projectId":9595959,"letterContent":"Students are absolutely loving the glitter pens and headphones.
