Bringing Walter back to school has impacted well beyond our classroom doors. I've heard amazing feedback from students and staff about the joy Walter has brought them on a daily basis. When she is out in her new habitat she gets visitors AND paparazzi from all over the campus. She has also peaked the curiosity of the entire school everyone wants to learn more about Red-Footed Tortoises. \r\n\r\nThe moment the materials for the projected were delivered my class has been eager to get it all put together. They enjoyed the entire habitat building process. From adding water to the coconut substrate bedding and watching it grow, to having the house assembled and delivered by a parent volunteer. It been a very exciting process for everyone involved, including Walter herself! I've never seen Walter so active and interested in a group of kids, as she was when she came back to school this year. \r\n\r\nThank you again for all of your generosity you have made our classroom community more like a family bringing Walter here. The best thing I heard was on the second day of Walter being back, from a student that said \"I didn't want to come to school today, because I had a bad morning. But I remembered Walter was here and that made me happy and excited to come to school.\" Your impact means a lot, to many.
