Your contribution made it possible for my students to create beautiful, heartfelt cards for veterans who recently traveled on the Honor Flight.\r\n\r\nThis project was more than an art activity—it was an opportunity for my students to learn about service, sacrifice, and gratitude. As they designed and personalized each card, they reflected on the courage and dedication of the men and women who served our country. Many students shared that this experience helped them feel connected to history and inspired them to give back in their own way.\r\n\r\nUnfortunately, my students were not able to be at the airport when the Honor Flight took off, but I was told that the veterans were deeply touched by these cards. For many, it was a reminder that their service is remembered and appreciated by the next generation. Your support helped bridge generations and create a moment of kindness that will be cherished by both my students and these heroes.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. Your generosity not only provided supplies—it sparked creativity, empathy, and a sense of community that will have a lasting impact.","fullyFundedDate":1757446693676,"projectUrl":"project/veteran-mail-call-cards-from-the-heart/9601728/","projectTitle":"Veteran Mail Call: Cards from the Heart","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Anderson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3212093_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1454037019817","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ccpsanderson"},{"teacherId":10230012,"projectId":9661288,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity in supporting \"Fueling Young Minds: Snacks for Focus and Energy.\" Since the arrival of our snack station, the atmosphere in our classroom has shifted from mid-morning fatigue to sustained productivity. It is a simple truth that a student cannot focus on a complex math problem or a creative writing prompt when their stomach is growling. Thanks to you, that barrier to learning has been removed.\r\n\r\nThe reaction from the students when the first delivery arrived was pure joy. One student looked at the variety of healthy options and asked, \"Is this all for us?\" When I told them yes, they were beaming. We've integrated the snacks into our daily routine as \"Brain Fuel Breaks.\" Just yesterday, during a particularly challenging science lab on ecosystems, I noticed a group of students starting to flag. We took a five-minute transition to grab some protein-rich snacks, and the energy in the room immediately rebounded. They returned to their observations with a renewed sense of curiosity and much less irritability!\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources are playing a vital role as we prepare for our upcoming end-of-unit assessments. Having a consistent supply of nutritious snacks ensures that every student starts their testing sessions on an equal playing field, regardless of whether they had a full breakfast at home. Your contribution has done more than just provide food; it has fostered a culture of care and readiness in our classroom. We are so grateful for your investment in our students' health and academic success!","fullyFundedDate":1760920207173,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-young-minds-snacks-for-focus-an/9661288/","projectTitle":"Fueling Young Minds: Snacks for Focus and Energy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kisha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10230012_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760723916173","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10230012"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_45461","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":858,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":48,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":25,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":68.8,"schoolId":45461,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Port Charlotte Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Port Charlotte Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/charlotte-county-public-school-district/port-charlotte-middle-school/45461"}
