Prior to ending the meeting I was able to pull some uniforms from the shelves your donation provided and hand them to the parent. I was also able to offer the student and their baby sister a choice of snacks, once again provided from your donation (they went with the Famous Amos cookies and Takis). The family walked out of the office with smiles on their faces, and that was due in no small part to your generosity. \r\n\r\nThe Spot It games you provided have also been a hit. Each time I sit down to show a student how to play the game, which involves racing to recognize matching pictures before your opponent(s) there invariably comes a point where they will exclaim \"there's no match!\" Then I show them the matching images and discuss how one's level of emotional energy can impact thinking and perception. That experience provides an anchor giving meaning and validity to the importance of self-awareness and both learning and practicing emotional regulation strategies. Having the ability to now gift a copy of the game to select students to take home and share with their families makes the learning experience and impact over time that much stronger.\r\n\r\nThis all serves to communicate to students that ours is a positive and safe space not just worth visiting but worth seeking out, which is exactly what they are doing thanks to you.","fullyFundedDate":1765736072366,"projectUrl":"project/help-supply-a-supportive-safe-space-for/9906231/","projectTitle":"Help Supply a Supportive Safe Space for Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Mujica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10354508"},{"teacherId":2376125,"projectId":9497495,"letterContent":"This year has been particularly tough for both teachers and students. When I told them that there were some generous donors out there who cared enough to contribute to making their classrooms more active, they were super excited. We haven't had much opportunities to use the resources to their full capacity as yet due to several weather and safety restrictions but what we have been able to use have been loved, appreciated and enjoyed by every student.
