Each time a student earns an A or B on an assessment, completes all homework, or goes out of their way to help a peer, they receive an immediate reward from the materials you helped fund. This simple recognition has made a big difference in keeping them focused and proud of their progress. One moment that stood out was when a student who usually struggles with confidence earned a high score on a quiz. As soon as they received their reward, the whole class cheered, and you could see how proud they felt. It was a great reminder of how powerful positive reinforcement can be.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were amazed. Their excitement filled the room, and many of them immediately said they were ready to work harder. They understood that these rewards weren't handed out automatically—they had to be earned through real effort and achievement. That sense of ownership has helped shift their mindset in such a positive way.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, my goal is to keep building on this momentum. I want to sustain this system, so students stay motivated and continue pushing themselves on every assignment, test, and project. With their upcoming lessons and the GEARS assessments, these resources will help them stay focused and committed to doing their very best.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting our classroom. Your generosity has made a meaningful impact.","fullyFundedDate":1755716150804,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-our-focus-motivating-students-f/9268666/","projectTitle":"Fueling Our Focus: Motivating Students for Gears Test Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Blaya","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9749840_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734360838953","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9749840"},{"teacherId":9749840,"projectId":8782247,"letterContent":"When this school year started, I faced the challenge of not having a 1:1 computer-to-student ratio, which made it difficult for my students to fully engage in their learning. However, thanks to the generosity of our donors, my project was funded, and we now have enough computers for every student—plus a few extras in case of technical issues. This has been a game-changer in my classroom, especially for science learning. The students are more motivated and engaged, particularly during virtual labs, where they can explore complex scientific concepts in an interactive and hands-on way. Seeing their excitement and curiosity grow has been truly heartwarming.\r\n\r\nThe moment the new computers arrived and were installed in the classroom was unforgettable. My students' faces lit up with joy, especially those who previously had to share a device with a classmate. It was as if a new world of possibilities had opened up for them. Having their own computers not only gave them a sense of ownership over their learning but also made them feel valued and supported. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it reaffirmed just how much of an impact this technology has on their education.\r\n\r\nSome students, in particular, have embraced this new technology with incredible enthusiasm. Those who previously had to share a device now feel empowered, knowing they have the same opportunities as their peers. I've seen students who were once hesitant become more confident in their learning, eagerly participating in lessons and exploring new digital tools. This technology has not only enhanced their education but has also given them a sense of independence and excitement for learning that I hope will stay with them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1734321497319,"projectUrl":"project/boosting-student-learning-with-enhanced/8782247/","projectTitle":"Boosting Student Learning with Enhanced GEARS Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Blaya","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9749840_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734360838953","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9749840"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_45161","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1087,"numTeachers":69,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":49,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":48.0,"schoolId":45161,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pompano Beach Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pompano Beach Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/broward-county-public-schools/pompano-beach-middle-school/45161"}
