When asked later what helped them open up, they shared that having access to a healthy snack gave them the boost they needed to stay alert and confident. It's a powerful reminder that meeting basic needs can unlock so much potential.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snack packs, their reactions were heartwarming—surprise, excitement, and sincere gratitude. Many of our students come from low-income households where food insecurity is a real issue, so they felt genuinely seen and supported. As we move forward, students are using their college tour experiences to create personalized reflection journals, helping them explore which types of colleges and programs best match their goals. This project not only sustains them physically during the tours, but also empowers them to take meaningful next steps on their educational journey.
