Through interactive digital simulations and visual models, my students were able to explore what's happening \"inside\" the cell—seeing how organelles like the nucleus, mitochondria, and chloroplasts actually work together. This technology allowed them to move beyond memorizing terms and instead *visualize* and *interact* with each part of the cell in real time.\r\n\r\nI also use the iPad as a teaching tool during class discussions and instruction. It helps me project interactive diagrams, play educational videos, and demonstrate 3D cell animations that capture my students' attention. Using the iPad, I can easily switch between visuals, notes, and digital tools to explain lessons more clearly and make complex biology topics easier to understand.\r\n\r\nThrough this project, my students created their own 3D models of plant and animal cells, combining creativity with scientific accuracy. They used digital apps to design, label, and animate organelles, which made learning more engaging and meaningful. Many of them said that seeing the cells in 3D and being able to rotate or zoom in helped them truly understand how each organelle works.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is the hands-on and interactive experience that the iPads provide. They love exploring augmented reality features and digital lab simulations that make them feel like real scientists. For many visual learners, this has transformed abstract science concepts into something they can see, touch, and explore.\r\n\r\nSome students who were less engaged before have shown a newfound interest in science. For example, several who struggled with traditional lessons became more confident after using the iPad—they were proud to share their 3D models and even helped classmates learn how to use the apps.\r\n\r\nOverall, this project has turned learning about cells into an exciting digital discovery. The iPads have not only enhanced my instruction but also inspired creativity, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of science among my students.","fullyFundedDate":1747768090136,"projectUrl":"project/inside-eukaryotic-cells-the-hidden-life/9366235/","projectTitle":"Inside Eukaryotic Cells: The Hidden Life Within","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jim","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9902706_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737627186461","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9902706"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_75163","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2843,"numTeachers":108,"percentFrplEligible":81,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":36,"percentWhite":19,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"26.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":47.3,"schoolId":75163,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Coral Glades High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Coral Glades High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/broward-county-public-schools/coral-glades-high-school/75163"}
