My AP Environmental students are a bright bunch of motivated kids who enjoy learning about the world around them. They come from a diversity of backgrounds, but generally they seem to care about their environment. We are in a school district like so many that has faced budget cutbacks and that has meant going to 50 minute classes. It makes it very difficult to do much beyond the confines of the classroom or a quick trip outdoors, but we have a limited natural environment on campus and I would like to have the chance to expose them to more. They are in a suburban environment and while they do make trips to the beach, there's a lot about the world around them that is foreign to them.

About my class
