From exploring character development and theme to practicing inferencing and text-to-self connections, our readers are growing in confidence and comprehension. Many of the books have also sparked meaningful discussions around empathy, diversity, and resilience—lessons that go far beyond the page.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is an active, engaging experience. Students read independently, in pairs, and in small groups. We use read-alouds to model fluency and expression, and we incorporate journaling and book talks to deepen understanding. The new books have added excitement to our reading block—students often race to be the first to check out a new title!\r\n\r\nOne student, in particular, has blossomed since the arrival of these books. Previously hesitant to read aloud, she now volunteers eagerly during group reading time, especially when we explore stories with strong female protagonists. Another student, who struggled to find books that matched his interests, discovered a love for graphic novels and now reads daily with enthusiasm.\r\n\r\nYour support has made reading not just a subject, but a source of joy and discovery.
