We spent time together learning about each set, identifying the different pieces, discussing what they represented, and discovering ways to use them during play.\r\n\r\nThese materials have quickly become a staple in our classroom and are available to students every day during independent learning and play. I have been especially excited to see students playing cooperatively, sharing materials, taking turns, and interacting with their classmates. These are important developmental skills for all preschoolers and are also directly connected to several of my students' IEP goals.\r\n\r\nThe play sets have also created wonderful opportunities for language development. Students are learning new vocabulary, practicing conversational language, and using their imaginations through pretend play. As their teacher, I am able to join their play to introduce new concepts, expand their ideas and language, model appropriate social interactions, and informally assess skills in a natural and engaging way.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your generosity has allowed me to provide my students with high-quality, age-appropriate materials that make learning exciting and meaningful. These materials can be used in so many different ways and are durable enough to benefit my students for many years to come.\r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful for your support of my classroom and my students.
