As I begin my 10th school year teaching art at Cambridge Elementary, I am continually amazed by the creativity, imagination, and enthusiasm my students bring into the art room. Your generosity helps provide them with resources that allow their ideas to grow into finished works of art.\r\n\r\nThe color printer has made a particularly meaningful difference for my students. They create digital artwork using programs such as Google Drawings, Canva, and Adobe Express, and now they can see those digital creations come to life on paper. Being able to print, hold, share, and display their artwork gives students a sense of accomplishment and shows them that their digital creations are just as valuable as the artwork they make by hand.\r\n\r\nThe additional art supplies are also making a difference in our everyday classroom. Pencils and a sharpener help students plan and sketch their ideas, while Sharpies are used in many of our projects to add detail, contrast, and finishing touches. The tape runner makes it easier to mount student artwork for displays and art shows, giving students opportunities to see their hard work celebrated throughout our school.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping make our art room a place where every young artist can create, experiment, and feel proud of what they accomplish. The opportunities for language usage and acquisition have made a noticeable impact, especially for our little ones coming in with language deficits. \r\n\r\nAnd as an added bonus, and one I did not foresee, the students in our classroom have really begun to see themselves as an integral part of our school community. They are watching the older students pass by, pointing out those they know, and asking who they are, where they are going, and what they are doing. They have learned the teachers names in the classroom behind us, and have made an amazing effort to make themselves a part of our community by engaging with these teachers.
