I have been having difficulty taking good pictures of the students' artwork for years. There is always a glare, which makes the picture distorted. With the light box, the light is diffused, and there is no glare. I can even change the brightness and background colors, so projects that use darker paper show up well in the photographs.\r\nMy art aids have been learning to use the light boxes. They are having a lot of fun with it. Plus, because the photos have to be uploaded and cropped after the pictures are taken, they have been learning some graphic design steps as well. \r\nI have been using the photos for contests and to upload into an online portfolio that every student I teach has access to. They can go in and view their work and actually use it to put on things like cups and shirts to give as presents. I can see which students are checking out their work online and some of them have purchased items. I can't wait to see them. I plan to continue with putting work in the online gallery for the remainder of my teaching career since it has been so successful. If I didn't have the light box, I would not be able to do this.\r\nI also ordered some railboard paper with the grant, which I have always wanted to try, but could never afford. I think it will be great to use for our magazine collage project. It's thicker than I thought it would be, but slippery, which I didn't expect.","fullyFundedDate":1758636533397,"projectUrl":"project/lets-get-professional-with-our-art/9381816/","projectTitle":"Lets Get Professional with Our Art","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Westlake","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1449776_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1449612612350","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/shannonwestlake"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54333","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":634,"numTeachers":45,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":76,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":55.4,"schoolId":54333,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Merritt Brown Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Merritt Brown Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/bay-county-school-district/merritt-brown-middle-school/54333"}
