Hurricane Michael devastated our community on October 12th, 2018. This was also my first year teaching. On that catastrophic day, I completely lost my home and our school’s campus, and the majority of my fellow faculty and our students were also totally displaced from their homes. Art can be very therapeutic for learners of any age. I plan on using these supplies to demonstrate that creating visual references of data do not have to be limited to line graphs, charts, and numbers. My requested supplies will be used to offer an uplifting educational experience that my students will feel passionate as participants. I strongly feel that these items and projects provide an opportunity for an encouraging, and positive school year. Our community needs hope like this as we continue to recover from Hurricane Michael.
