Because of you, our students have been able to dive into new books that are not only exciting to read, but also rich with opportunities to grow as thinkers, writers, and lifelong learners.\r\n\r\nThese new texts have opened the door to several important reading skills and lessons. Students are practicing how to make inferences, track character development, identify themes, and analyze how authors use language to create mood and meaning. Many of our books also lend themselves to discussions about empathy, perspective-taking, and how stories connect to our own lives. Your gift didn't just put books on shelves—it expanded the kinds of conversations we can have as readers.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active, joyful, and collaborative. Students read independently, in small groups, and with partners. They annotate, jot questions, share predictions, and participate in lively discussions. Some days the room is quiet and focused; other days it's buzzing with students comparing plot twists or debating a character's choices. The books you provided have become a centerpiece of our daily routine.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have been especially energized by the new additions. One student who previously struggled to stay engaged during reading time has now been racing through a series and proudly asking for the next book. Another student who is usually shy has started raising her hand during discussions because she feels connected to the characters and wants to share her insights. A few students have even begun forming informal \"book clubs\" during lunch, bringing their books with them to keep reading.\r\n\r\nYour support has made these moments possible. You've helped create a classroom where students feel excited, confident, and curious—where reading is not just an assignment, but something they genuinely look forward to.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their growth. Your kindness continues to make a meaningful difference every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1785172523128,"projectUrl":"project/mid-year-start-growing-classroom/10184596/","projectTitle":"Mid Year Start - Growing Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Montenegro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10160463"},{"teacherId":10160463,"projectId":10142390,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom finally has a real collection of books for students to choose from. Before this project, we had almost no classroom library at all. Now, students can browse, pick, and settle in with books that actually interest them — and that simple change has transformed our reading time.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments happened the day the books arrived. Students crowded around the table, whisper‑shouting titles to each other and holding up books like treasures. Several said, \"We finally have choices!\" and immediately started trading recommendations like seasoned readers.\r\n\r\nOur next step is helping students build stronger independent reading habits. Now that they have access to books they're excited about, we're beginning small reading conferences where students talk about their book choices, set goals, and practice stamina. Your support made this possible, and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1775096974754,"projectUrl":"project/mid-year-start-growing-classroom/10142390/","projectTitle":"Mid Year Start - Growing Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Montenegro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10160463"},{"teacherId":9165864,"projectId":9665278,"letterContent":"Thank you so, so much for your donation to our classroom. My students use this carpet daily. Every morning we gather at the carpet to begin our day with a \"morning meeting.\" This is something that could have been done without the carpet, but having it in the classroom now brings a sense of comfort and home that the students appreciate. Any moment during the day when I tell the students that they can work around the room, I immediately have those who choose to sit at the front on the carpet to complete their work. Without this piece of my classroom the room does not feel complete. \r\n A more subtle, but just as impactful of a donation is the printer ink. The ability to print off a hard copy of work in my own room is something that I didn't realize how much I appreciated it until it was unavailable. Being able to support and keep my own personal printer running has made this year a game changer for me. Without this, I feel constantly underprepared. \r\n Your donation has come to both directly and indirectly support the students in my 4th grade classroom. Your support has made such a meaningful difference for my students.\r\n\r\nThe ant farm has been an absolute hit! The kids gather around it every day, completely fascinated as they watch the ants tunnel and work together. It's sparked so many wonderful questions and conversations about teamwork, ecosystems, and animal behavior. I've seen students who rarely participate suddenly become the class experts on ant colonies.\r\n\r\nAll of the other supplies you provided have been equally transformative. We've been able to do hands-on experiments and investigations that simply wouldn't have been possible before. There's nothing quite like seeing a child's eyes light up when they make a discovery themselves.\r\n\r\nYour investment in our classroom is an investment in these students' futures. Your donation has made a significant and positive impact on the learning environment in my classroom. These additions not only enhanced the physical space but also improved student engagement, comfort, and collaboration.\r\n\r\nThe stools provide a much-needed flexible seating options, allowing students to take ownership of their learning by choosing where and how they work best. This flexibility encourages movement, supports different learning styles, and helps students stay more focused and engaged during lessons. Many students gravitate toward the stools for independent work or group tasks, and the novelty and comfort of the seating contributed to a more positive attitude toward classroom activities.\r\n\r\nThe rug transformed a portion of the room into a warm, inviting space that quickly became a hub for shared learning experiences. It is used daily for morning meetings, read-alouds, small group discussions, and partner work. \r\n\r\n\r\nTogether, the donated stools and rug play an important role in fostering a student-centered environment. They support both academic and social-emotional learning by making the room more inclusive, engaging, and responsive to students' needs.
