Labs are deeply integral to getting kids engaged and excited about science, and these are going to go so far! And with softer seats, attention spans have increased as well! Students get to advocate for themselves in more ways and it's proving to help class run even smoother -- they are more focused and are able to take shorter, more inclusive breaks when needed.\r\n\r\nA lot of kids didn't think the foot fidgets were going to be useful to them, but I catch most kids using them at least a little bit during the week. A select few, who I had in mind when I put them on my list, have been loyal to the resistance bands since the moment they were introduced!\r\n\r\nThe biodiversity and wind patterns lab materials have helped my AP Environmental Science students understand those concepts in a much deeper way than years prior. I am sure this will solidify the information for them to dig into for the AP Exam in May. Thank you again!!\r\n\r\nThe structured movement with the classroom that all of these materials allow has limited the bigger distractions of kids going in and out of the classroom and help them self-regulate more effectively. These are some of the best investments in my classroom in the past 10 years. I should have done this so much sooner! We are so grateful :)","fullyFundedDate":1762265338020,"projectUrl":"project/bad-seating-low-engagement-help-fix-t/9494868/","projectTitle":"Bad Seating = Low Engagement Help Fix That!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Grimes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10090950_orig.jpg?crop=2150,2150,x1599,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753311523732","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10090950"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_97412","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":696,"numTeachers":61,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":96,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":29.6,"schoolId":97412,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about KIPP District of Columbia - College Preparatory on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"KIPP District of Columbia - College Preparatory","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/district-of-columbia/kipp-dc-public-schools/kipp-dc-college-preparatory/97412"}
