So many of our students have sensory issues and bright rugs can lead to an overstimulating environment.\r\n\r\nWe also find that we'll turn around when it's free choice time and everyone will be on the rug playing with various toys. They need help to calm their nervous systems so they can rest - the weighted blankets provide this support. The technology transformed the way my 2nd grade learners especially those with reading disabilities were able to engage with grade-level texts. They were able to complete their blended learning assignments in reading and math. Students who once struggled to decode or comprehend now listen to stories with their laptops tablet for audio support, and annotate with confidence. Students that could not count, add, or subtract, are now able to move on into multiplication and division. The student cannot wait to see which pictures and videos win. \r\n\r\nMy shy students and Spanish speaking students have participated more in the activities.
