We are actively using the new resources during our Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) sessions, tutorials, and even within our math classes. One memorable moment was during a wellness session where students used the games to practice communication and teamwork—students who are usually quiet began opening up, laughing, and collaborating with their peers. These tools have truly helped create a safe and positive environment where students feel seen and valued.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students were genuinely excited and curious. Their faces lit up as they explored the games and activities, and many immediately asked when we would use them. Since then, my students have been so excited to join tutorial and wellness sessions, not only because of the new fun games but also because of the welcoming atmosphere—yes, even the snacks have played a big role in building community and comfort! Similarly, my Geometry and IB Math students have shown increased motivation in their collaborative work and presentations. They are more willing to participate, share ideas, and support one another, which has strengthened both their academic performance and their interpersonal skills.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue integrating these SEL resources into our daily routines and upcoming projects. Students will be working on group-based math investigations and presentations where they will apply both their academic knowledge and SEL skills such as communication, empathy, and teamwork. We are also expanding our wellness sessions to include student-led activities, giving them ownership of their growth. Your support has made a lasting impact on both the hearts and minds of my students. Thank you so much for believing in them and in our classroom community.\r\nWith sincere appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1776460236460,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-student-wellness-through-sel/10101928/","projectTitle":"Supporting Student Wellness Through SEL Connections","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Jomuad","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10342039"},{"teacherId":8635426,"projectId":9707806,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, my students now have access to essential hygiene products and food that make a real difference in their daily lives. We are using these supplies regularly to support students who may come to school without everything they need, ensuring they feel clean, comfortable, and cared for throughout the day. One particularly meaningful moment was seeing students' relief and excitement when the supplies were made available—they immediately understood that someone beyond our classroom cared about their well‑being.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the items, their reactions were heartfelt and genuine. Some smiled, others quietly expressed thanks, and many showed a newfound confidence knowing their basic needs were being met. These resources have helped remove barriers to learning, allowing students to better focus, participate in class, and engage positively with their peers.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our next steps involve continuing conversations and lessons around self‑care, healthy habits, and overall wellness. With these donations, students are better prepared to take care of themselves and stay energized during the school day. Your support has created a safer, more supportive environment for my students, and it has reminded them that their community believes in them.
