The students are just loving all of the choices for where to sit. The carpet is the biggest hit as it gives every student their own place to sit with clear boundaries so no arguments over someone being too close or in their spot. It had really helped build our classroom community to come together on the carpet and learn in a setting that feels less formal and more comfortable than desks. Plus they are even closer to the pictures in our read aloud stories during story time. The other seating has helped to give students more options to get comfy when its time to grab a book and read during readers workshop time. Whether they need a yoga ball to help get the wiggles out and focus or a cushion to sink down and get comfy all are included. Everytime I introduce a new piece of seating we got their eyes light up like Christmas morning and its a great experience to see them all trying out the new seats. Coming up next is introducing using our stools to sit in at our desk instead of a typical chair. I'm sure the reaction will be just the same as the others!
