The students had so much fun examining the specimens and using the materials to learn more about different types of insects. They were excited and curious when they first saw the materials, and many of them immediately wanted to explore and share what they noticed with their friends!\r\n\r\nWe have also been using the donated clothing to celebrate diversity in our classroom. The students enjoy seeing and learning about different clothing styles and cultures, which has created meaningful opportunities to talk about how we are all unique and special.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our studies, the students will keep observing, comparing, and learning about different insects and their characteristics. The donated books have become a big favorite. They get really excited when it's time for read-aloud and love looking at the pictures, talking about the stories, and sharing their thoughts.\r\n\r\nThe cultural clothing has also been a lot of fun! We've been using it to talk about different cultures, traditions, and diversity. The students were so excited to see the new clothes in our dramatic play area. They couldn't wait to try them on and use them while making up their own stories and playing together.\r\n\r\nWe also really appreciate the social-emotional support items! They have been a big help for some of our friends with different disabilities and give them extra ways to feel comfortable, calm, and included in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe're going to keep using all of these materials as we read, play, learn about different cultures, and practice working and playing together. My students have loved playing with the materials and learning about the letters and letter sounds. They really enjoy the sink and float items. We have learned what different things float and how we can make floating things sink. hey have all said that making the cars was the most fun. I believe that the highlight was watching friends that couldn't identify letter finally match them and find objects that start with the letter. \r\nThese items are going to be so useful for many school years to come. You donation has not only helped the students in my class this year the the impact will be felt for a ew more years to come. The students have said that they will be gentle with the toys so that the new kids next year ill be able to play with the items. It has allowed my students to have a more in-depth hands on learning experience with Weather, Seasons and Rocks. My students have developed an even deeper love for the weather and rocks. Because of the hands on experiences they were able to have here they have encouraged more parent involvement in science and nature activities. \r\nMy students have started to ask more questions about other science topics we can explore and learn about. They are so excited to ask questions and 'write' in their journals.
