As we unpacked everything together, their faces lit up with curiosity and joy. Many of my students immediately gravitated toward the calm-down corner items, exploring the sensory tools and learning how to use them to regulate their emotions. Others jumped right into sorting books, organizing supplies, and helping set up the new shelves. It instantly made our classroom feel more structured, calm, and inviting.\r\nWe've already started using the resources daily. The calm-down tools have given students a safe space to reset when they feel overwhelmed, which has made a noticeable difference in our classroom climate. The prize bin has become a motivating reinforcement system, and the added storage has helped us keep materials organized so students can engage more independently. One moment that really stood out was seeing a student who normally struggles with frustration independently go to the calm-down corner, use a sensory tool, and return ready to learn—something they hadn't been able to do before.\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students are better equipped to stay focused, build independence, and feel proud of their learning environment. Our next steps include diving deeper into literacy activities using our now-organized book area and continuing to strengthen self-regulation skills with the tools you helped provide. Your support didn't just supply materials—it transformed daily routines and opened new opportunities for growth.\r\nThank you for making such a meaningful impact on our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1760982200244,"projectUrl":"project/building-readers-together/9842666/","projectTitle":"Building Readers Together","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hunt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10318581"},{"teacherId":1845636,"projectId":9847385,"letterContent":"THANK YOU! As a result, because of individuals like each of you, that have an incredibly HUGE HEART, we have immediate access to supports and resources! I thank each of you for your help and for supporting our ideas and projects! Your kindness and your donations allowed me to restock my classroom pantry and have motel-friendly and shelf stable food items readily available for families including can openers. I also started a Sunshine Bag project a few years ago to help support our families experiencing displacement and homelessness. Through generous funding received through the Donors Choose platform, I have been able to provide families that are unhoused or displaced with a duffel bags, when I have the resources available, filled with motel friendly foods, toiletries, blankets, laundry detergent, pajamas, socks, activities for kids, books and so much more! When the duffel bags needed to be refilled for families, students would bring the duffel bags back in and I would be able to fill them with any items they needed all because of the support from the community and from donors. Thank you so much for your support and generous donation to help fully fund my \"Grow Our Own Garden Library\" Donors Choose project. It was truly EXCITING to put so many amazing brand-new picture books to inspire gardening and innovation in the hands of students in my first grade buddy classroom. They did such a wonderful job last year learning about gardening and growing fresh greens right inside their classroom. Our 1st grade \"gardeners\" learned how to prepare and grow their seedlings, transfer their seedlings to a classroom hydroponics system and finish their first harvest of fresh lettuce in collaborative, innovative and exciting way! When their harvest was ready, they led the work in preparing fresh bags of lettuce for a local shelter near our school. This year, as second graders they are going to lead the work with our new first graders during the school day and in our after-school programming! \r\n\r\nIt was so EXCITING to see all of the brand-new picture books arrive! Students were surprised when they walked in their 1st grade classroom and saw so many books displayed on their desks. Some of the titles they received included \"Something, Someday\" by Author and Poet Amanda Gorman and Author and Illustrator Christian Robinson and \"Miguel's Community Garden\" by Author and Illustrator Janay Brown-Wood and Samara Hardy. So many fun and inspiring titles to spark the joy of gardening and envisioning what could be with a new idea and some teamwork. They also received \"In Our Garden\" by Author Pat Zietlow Miller and Illustrator Melissa Crowton, \"Jayden's Impossible Garden\" by Author and Illustrator Melina Mangal and Ken Daley, \"Lola Plants a Garden\" by Author and Illustrator Anna McQuinn and Rosalind Beardshaw! Many of the authors also commented online regarding their stories being a part of this project! \r\n\r\nYour generosity helped to spark so much joy in reading and make connections to what students were working on and learning in the classroom about gardening and watching fresh greens grow and come to life right inside their classroom! This year we also just received new equipment from Fork Farms for students to grow their impact even more and student gardeners will be working on bringing back to life a community garden. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping teachers with bringing their projects to life and also helping us build on what we are doing inside our classrooms and in our schools. The books you helped to fund was the perfect ending and surprise to their hard work at the end of the school year as they left for summer vacation. Our 1st grade gardeners were able to keep all of their books and take them home for some fun summer reading. \r\n\r\nI will forever be grateful for your generosity and kindness.","fullyFundedDate":1712349250658,"projectUrl":"project/grow-our-own-garden-library/8165204/","projectTitle":"Grow Our Own Garden Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Eller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1845636_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1532705285613","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/teachercity"},{"teacherId":1845636,"projectId":8165719,"letterContent":"Greetings & Happy Fall! \r\n\r\nI wanted to share with you how incredibly grateful I am for your generosity in helping to fund my Donors Choose project, \"Support Our Athletic Program-Healthy Snacks for Our Amazing Student Athletes\" when it was posted. Your kindness provided after-school snacks to our student athletes. Whether it was before practice, after practice or even during the school day having snacks readily available ensured students were able to be energized during the day and after a full day of learning and before and after practice! Having snacks available to our middle school student athletes after school provided a resource I did not have for students and I was so grateful to each of you because this project you funded allowed me to have snacks available for all of our student athletes across all of our sports. Middle school lunches start early and after a full day of learning, it was super awesome to have snacks available after school. \r\n\r\nI am truly appreciative of your thoughtful contribution. Thank you for investing in our amazing and incredible students. Thank you for believing in the work we do.
