Because of you, my students now have access to large magnetic graphing quadrants, dry erase markers, colorful markers, write-and-wipe boards, and professional books focused on facilitating meaningful mathematical discourse. These materials have already made a powerful difference in how my students learn, communicate, and engage with mathematics every day.\r\n\r\nThe large magnetic graphing quadrants have completely transformed our lessons on coordinate planes and data representation. Instead of passively watching examples, students now come to the board to physically place points, create graphs, and explain their thinking to their peers. One student who is usually hesitant to participate proudly stood up, placed her ordered pairs on the grid, and confidently explained why her graph showed a proportional relationship. Moments like that remind me why hands-on learning matters so much.\r\n\r\nThe dry erase markers, markers, and write-and-wipe boards have encouraged every student to take risks and share their thinking without fear of making mistakes. During problem-solving discussions, I see students eagerly sketch models, revise their work, and hold up their boards to justify their reasoning. These tools have made math feel accessible and collaborative, especially for students who need visual supports or extra confidence.\r\n\r\nThe books on facilitating mathematical discourse have also had a tremendous impact on my teaching practice. They have helped me structure discussions where students explain how and why their answers make sense, listen to different strategies, and respectfully challenge one another's thinking. I have watched students move from short, one-word answers to full explanations using academic language, and that growth is directly tied to the resources you helped provide.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has created a classroom where students feel empowered to think, talk, and learn like mathematicians. Thank you for believing in my students and for investing in tools that support deeper understanding and meaningful engagement. The impact of your kindness will continue to reach my students long after this school year ends.","fullyFundedDate":1760909346424,"projectUrl":"project/math-literacy-at-the-middle-school-level/9839086/","projectTitle":"Math Literacy at the Middle School Level","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Polanin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7653800_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1619139617054","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7653800"},{"teacherId":10336268,"projectId":9865705,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting the \"Sparking a Love for Reading Through Engaging Book Series\" project.
