My Spanish students are aware of the key role reading plays in developing their communicative and comprehension skills. Not only does it have a positive impact on their vocabulary and grammar skills, but it also helps them connect to the culture within the Latino communities. Books are a fantastic way to inspire students to learn about people and places that go beyond the textbook. It also encourages them to read, which is always a remarkable thing! \r\n\r\nMy \"Biblioteca\" has been a terrific addition to my classroom. It allows students the independence to grab a book they find interesting, sit on a beanbag, and read. I love it when they read aloud to one another and share what they learned. This type of activity requires little to no teacher support and keeps them engaged in the target language. \r\n\r\nSince my class is for level one students, I chose books that were easy-to-read for beginners. I was worried that the infantile look to the books would discourage my students; however, they enjoy them. When they encounter unknown vocabulary, they use the images to figure it out. They can also use the vocabulary they have learned to add more details to the story based on the drawings. It has been extremely rewarding to be able to provide my students the opportunity to read...in Spanish! I am forever grateful for your generous donation.","fullyFundedDate":1760372508965,"projectUrl":"project/dnde-est-la-biblioteca-in-my-classroo/9821078/","projectTitle":"¿Dónde Está La Biblioteca in My Classroom?","teacherDisplayName":"Sra. Education would not be as good as it could be without the help and support from donors like you. I have been using the reading resourced for mini-warm up lessons, to review common skills and help them reach their grade level goals.\r\n\r\nMy students have enjoyed the fidgets, flexible seating and resources you have provided for my classroom. Having taught 8th graders for the last several years, you would not believe how many times students ask for a \"break\" to get up or to get up and move around. As students get older, longer class periods make it harder for them to focus for the longer periods of time. The fidgets and flexible seating have definitely helped me keep students engaged longer and staying within the classroom more.\r\n\r\nI will be able to use this for future classes and with the summer school students I work with as well. \r\n\r\nI truly appreciate all the support and can't stress enough of the difference you are making. For many of my students, this was their first attempt at reading a book of this length—and their first experience with science fiction. Because of its complexity and scope, students developed perseverance and stamina, learning that they could successfully finish a challenging text. The scientific subject matter encouraged them to research unfamiliar concepts and vocabulary, building confidence in navigating topics they did not immediately understand. Even students who were initially hesitant—especially those unsure about reading a \"space book\"—found themselves engaged and invested in the story.\r\nThroughout the novel, we strengthened key literacy skills, including comprehension, making predictions, and analyzing author's craft such as foreshadowing and irony. Students eagerly discussed plot twists, debated what might happen next, and tracked character development. Many were surprised to discover that a story set in space could also be a powerful exploration of friendship, trust, and sacrifice. Watching students who I didn't expect to connect with the novel become some of its biggest fans was incredibly rewarding. Your support made it possible for students to challenge themselves, expand their reading identities, and discover that they are capable of far more than they imagined.","fullyFundedDate":1761270993746,"projectUrl":"project/from-earth-to-the-stars-stories-that-bu/9828225/","projectTitle":"From Earth to the Stars: Stories That Build Understanding","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Harris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4925672"},{"teacherId":8436193,"projectId":9842091,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping expand my classroom library! Your support has created an exciting bridge between academic achievement and positive reinforcement, and it has been incredibly motivating for our students. Myself, along with many other teachers, were thrilled to see how energized the students were when they learned they had earned the opportunity to use this new equipment.\r\nThe excitement was immediate and genuine. One student from an ELA class who came down after earning an incentive was especially eager to learn how to play disc golf, asking questions and showing a level of curiosity and enthusiasm that was wonderful to see. Moments like that highlight how powerful these incentives can be—not just as rewards, but as opportunities for students to discover new interests and build confidence.\r\nAdditionally, with pickleball continuing to grow in popularity, students were excited to have the chance to practice and play beyond what a typical PE unit would allow. The added equipment has helped spark greater interest in health and recreational activities, encouraging students to stay active while feeling proud of their academic accomplishments. Students are experimenting with a wider range of materials—such as paint, collage elements, drawing tools, and 3D supplies—to plan, create, and revise their artwork. One memorable moment was watching students confidently explain their artistic choices using art-specific vocabulary as they worked, naturally connecting their visual ideas to storytelling and written reflection.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were filled with excitement and curiosity. Many immediately began asking thoughtful questions about how the supplies could be used, while others carefully explored textures and colors before starting. The new resources gave students a sense of ownership and pride, especially for those who benefit from hands-on learning or alternative ways to express their ideas beyond writing alone.\r\n\r\nAs a next step, students are continuing to develop their projects by refining details, revising their work, and reflecting on their creative process through discussion and written responses. They will use the materials to strengthen planning, sequencing, and descriptive language skills as they complete their final pieces and participate in peer critiques. These resources are helping students deepen both their artistic understanding and their literacy skills, making learning more meaningful and accessible for every learner.","fullyFundedDate":1763267059545,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-literacy-in-the-visual-arts-c/9879699/","projectTitle":"Supporting Literacy in the Visual Arts classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dooley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1500069_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1763165157901","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1500069"},{"teacherId":4925672,"projectId":9580051,"letterContent":"My students were so excited when flexible seating was introduced to our classroom.
