Students gather around it for guided reading groups, writing conferences, and collaborative discussions. One especially meaningful moment was during a small-group novel study, where students sat facing one another to discuss character motivations and text evidence. The setup made it easier for every student to participate, maintain eye contact, and feel heard. I was able to sit alongside them, coach in real time, and provide immediate feedback on their thinking and writing.\r\n\r\nThe students were immediately excited and curious. When they walked in and saw the new table, several asked, \"Is this for us?\" and \"Can we sit there today?\" They felt proud and special knowing it was a space designed just for learning together. Many students shared that it felt more like a \"team table\" than regular desks, which helped set a positive tone for collaboration and discussion.\r\n\r\nNext, students are using the horseshoe table as we dive into a persuasive writing unit. They will brainstorm ideas together, analyze mentor texts, and participate in peer-editing conferences at the table. This space allows students to share their writing aloud, ask questions, and build confidence as communicators. Thanks to our donors, students are not just learning ELA skills—they are learning how to listen, respond thoughtfully, and grow together as readers and writers.","fullyFundedDate":1760883474014,"projectUrl":"project/collaborative-workspace-for-special-educ/9841422/","projectTitle":"Collaborative Workspace for Special Education Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Peterson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10317326"},{"teacherId":412912,"projectId":9828610,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous contribution toward diverse books and social-emotional learning resources for my 5th grade students.
