The book bins and individual book bags have made our classroom library setup seamless, allowing each student to curate their own books for independent reading time and to take home to practice. During our phonics and word-work centers, the sentence strips have been essential for building sentences and practicing sight words. The dry-erase boards with built-in number lines and the dry erasers have quickly become our go-to tool for our math small groups and to give extra support to the students who need it. \r\n\r\nWhen the boxes first arrived and we unboxed everything together, the kids were absolutely thrilled! Their eyes lit up seeing bright, fresh supplies meant just for them. Having dedicated headphones for each student was so important, and they were so excited to put them on and focus on their reading and math apps without any background distraction.\r\n\r\nBuilding on these new tools, our next step in reading is having students use their filled book bags for partner reading and use sentence strips to construct and decode complex sentences. In math, we are moving into addition and subtraction word problems, where students will use their number line erase boards to demonstrate and explain their strategy to a partner.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generosity and for investing in our classroom community.
