The students saw the materials but I believe some were hesitant because they were bugs. However in the lab they were not required to take them out of the jars. The next steps for my classroom is to really extend the lesson to outside of my classroom to the outdoors. The bookshelves and light covers have helped us organize classroom materials and create a more welcoming learning environment. The folders, pencil cases, pencils, highlighters, and erasers ensure that every student has the tools they need to participate fully in class each day.\r\n\r\nMy students were excited and grateful when they saw the new materials arrive. Many immediately noticed how organized the classroom looked with the new bookshelves and light covers. Students were eager to help arrange supplies and classroom resources. Several students commented that having their own pencil cases and supplies made them feel more prepared for the school year.\r\n\r\nThe organizational tools and classroom supplies will continue to support students as they draft, revise, and present their work. As the school year progresses, these resources will help students build independence, stay organized, and participate confidently in collaborative activities, reading assignments, and writing projects. Thank you so much for all the support to supply us with the preserved pigs we needed to complete our simulated autopsy. So many students from around the school are saying they want to take Forensics Science next year in order to have this experience. My current students cannot stop talking about the simulated autopsy over a week later. What an incredible impact you all have made on my students , their science education and their future. They were laser focused during the dissection and so many student expressed being surprised by how much they enjoyed this experience. I also they they now have a much clearer idea about the procedures and the challenges that face pathologists. The batting cage has made a huge impact and we could not have gotten this resource without the Crosby and Donorschoose community. \r\n\r\nIt took a bit to install for the first time but once it was available the teams were able to use the batting cage right away. It really helped the softball and baseball teams get practice in even when it was raining. With the extra practice both our base ball and softball teams have reached the state tournaments for the first time in many years. Gym classes have had access to the cage as well which has allowed for a greater variety of activity. \r\n\r\nThis is the first of many years to come that we will use the batting cage to support our sports teams and physical education classes. The Chromebook locks from this project provided the perfect way to lock the Chromebooks to the lab benches where students can have continuous access. The protractors are ensuring all student have what they need without the need to share. There is no way to get the substitute copies for each assignment one may want to provide students. If you try and make copies in advance for each unit, one never knows if it will align with where students are when an absence comes up for an emergency. The easiest thing for my classes to do to access relevant substitute work is for me to assign the work in real time via Google Classroom. The problem we had was that computers were always locked away where students could not access them. Because of this project access is now more open because the Chromebooks are locked to the desk but available instead of locked in a cabinet. \r\n\r\nThe bolts and Chromebook locks from this project provided the perfect way to lock the Chromebooks to the lab benches where students can have continuous access.
