The students were so happy to see such a high quality mat that allowed them to sit closer to the Smartboard screen at times when I was demonstrating tools on the board. \r\n\r\nMy lab is a very wide room with 25 computers set up all over the place. Some seats are closer to the board than others. It is a strange setup, but I am limited by the availability of electric outlets. Therefore, it's hard to design a learning space where everyone can see the Smartboard equally. That is why I will often ask students who are farther away to come sit on the floor for short demonstrations. Having a comfortable mat to sit on makes them much more willing to move around. \r\n\r\nIn addition, when we are utilizing robotics such as Spheros with ipads, having a safe place to sit on the floor is very conducive to the learning environment. I am so appreciative of your generosity, and I know that the students join me in saying Thank You.","fullyFundedDate":1746479745877,"projectUrl":"project/better-views-better-learning/9264037/","projectTitle":"Better Views, Better Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Waldron","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp774605_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1525033979489","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/774605"},{"teacherId":1865427,"projectId":8185622,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation! We decided to use them for book clubs. Book Clubs is a time where I group my students and they all read the same book and they get to have discussions and hear each other's thoughts and opinions. The students have gotten to learn important speaking and listening skills. They also have gotten to boost their social emotional skills in regards to: listening to others, showing attention and focus on others, being able to respectfully and agree and disagree with their classmates and how to think critically about a book. \r\n\r\nDuring book clubs, each small group chooses a space in the classroom that they want to meet each day.
