It is greatly beneficial for my students to be able to practice their golf swings. I feel like a lot of my students have not been introduced to the sport of golf yet. Teaching a new skill, showing clips and being able to start a new after school club is really beneficial. \r\nI would like to think that I was fortunate to know about the sport of golf growing up but I did not learn about it in school at all. This way if there is anyone in my middle school who shows any interest in golf, they can join my after school golf club. I hope it could lead to something more. If my students show enough interest this could even potentially lead to me starting a new middle school golf league in my district. Again, this was a great donation that will have a lasting impression on my students at my school. Thank you for the extension cords so I can plug the lights in. Every time the kids walk in, they are excited to see what color the lights are. My entire student population has benefited from the footballs and soccer balls. First, I taught a soccer unit starting with skills and drills and then on to some lead-up games before teaching more of a traditional soccer game with some modified rules. Next, I taught a football unit starting with skills and drills, throwing and catching competitions, and then onto football games. After both of those units were taught I then did a week of Football or Futbol. This week my students were allowed to choose if they wanted to play Football Americano or Futbol. I was able to talk about the differences with my students. \r\n\r\nWhen I unveiled the new equipment at the start of the school year my students were very excited to have the opportunity to learn. Being a new teacher in a new classroom and in a new school was a big adjustment. \r\nMy classroom was a huge blank slate. I was excited to make it my own. I only had one small book shelf and a filing cabinet. I was so excited Donors Choose was able to provide me with a table, another bookshelf and storage bins to help organize the materials I need as well as the students. Project lead the way is a class where students make many projects out of recycled materials. Before I got funded, I didn't have anywhere to store the materials, they all stayed in the box they got shipped in. Now, I can organize them in the bins. \r\nWhile the students are working on their projects, I need a place to store them. My windowsill and the top of the bookshelf was where I put them, but now I can put them on the table and additional bookshelf that I got.\r\nI love hanging student work up, but every day it kept falling down. I love that I have these cork boards.
