They love the novelty (still) of pressing the button to see which phrase and sentence they have to repeat or produce. The spinning wheel and light make it feel like a game and that helps this SLP make the sessions fun for the students and garner many, many trials. \r\n\r\nMy students who need support with language, categories, comparing and contrasting look forward to the Kibbit Movers - Educational Board Game for Improving Categorization, Vocabulary, and Receptive and Expressive Language Skills game. The visuals and game format help them enjoy the learning that happens in speech; parents even comment on the progress they are seeing at home which makes this a huge generalization win!!\r\n\r\nLet's Get Talking: A Speech-Language Therapy Companion for a Child's First Functional Words is a huge hit with my preK students who need visuals to know how to move their mouths and tongues to more precisely improve their sounds at the phoneme level! \r\n\r\nAnd last, but not least, thank you for the crafts which the kids look forward to using at the end of each session. While I have my Master's in Communication Disorders, I think I have spent enough hours on crafting with my students to garner an honorary PhD in crafting with beads, pom poms and googly eyes!! \r\n\r\nThis is my heartfelt thank you for your generosity for me and my students- my heart is so very thankful for all of you!","fullyFundedDate":1759855557733,"projectUrl":"project/speech-love-and-language/9746967/","projectTitle":"Speech, Love, and Language","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Strevens","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10274321"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43748","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":365,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":36,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":65,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":21,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":73.5,"schoolId":43748,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Louis Toffolon Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Louis Toffolon Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/plainville-community-school-district/louis-toffolon-elementary-school/43748"}
