It is because of your generosity, that our students have been provided with purposeful and functional activities to build independence, develop confidence, and discover their individual strengths through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.\r\nThanks to your support, we have been able to prepare and launch a Life Skills curriculum into our program. Built into their schedules, our students have access to the Life Skills Lab everyday allowing them to promote everyday living, vocational, and communication skills. From folding laundry and practicing simple recipes to participating in interactive technology activities and connecting with others through our Pen Pal program at the high school program, each experience offers opportunities for students to learn, participate, and grow all while bridging gaps between grade levels.\r\nOne of the most rewarding parts of this project has been witnessing the enthusiasm our students bring both to and outside of the lab. We have seen students begin to initiate interactions with their peers, eagerly anticipate their favorite activities, and take pride in their work. Some have even started connecting the tasks we practice to real jobs, expressing interest for their own futures.\r\nYour donations have also helped us expand our kitchen experiences with an appliance cart and recipe binders. Throughout the year, students will practice preparing simple recipes and they will bring their recipe binders home to continue exploring these skills with their families at the end of the school year.\r\nAside from this, your impact reaches far beyond the materials you have provided.\r\nIt is our mission to share that all learning is not a one size fits all approach and reaching each student's potential level of independence starts now. In our classroom, they are essential tools for equity and focus. Because of your support, our students no longer have to fight through classroom noise trying to engage with a digital activity. \r\n\r\nStudents use these headphones to access Khan Academy and interactive simulations. They can pause and rewind lessons to learn at their own pace, turning a busy room into a private, one-on-one tutoring session.\r\n\r\nStudents were incredibly excited to have high-quality, comfortable equipment. It gave them a sense of pride and ownership over their work.\r\n\r\nWe recently held our annual assessments, a traditionally high-stress time. In the past, students worried about broken or missing equipment. This year, that anxiety was gone. Every student had a reliable, comfortable pair of headphones, allowing them to tune out distractions and focus entirely on showing what they've learned.
