Giving our students a hands-on learning experience that extends outside into the garden is invaluable for our special ed students here at the Walter Fitzgerald Campus. Although you might not think it, our school has little to no funding, so donations like the one you made in 2024 makes way more of an impact than you may think. \r\n\r\nBecause the weather was so unseasonably warm for so long, we were able to harvest tomatoes, tomatillos, peppers, sunflowers, green beans, and chard well into November. It's incredible to see the students' faces' when they taste a tomato that they grew for the first time. They can't believe how sweet it is. We have been using them to take videos of Mill River and Rooster River for our research. Also, we have been taking videos of the building next door to our school which is abandoned. The town owns the property and the students are going to create proposals for different options for the land.\r\n\r\nWe have endless possiblities for our drones. Mostly, I am proud that our students get to add these skills to their resumes and use the skills in the future. For personal use, before school one day, a few students and I flew a drone up and watched the sunrise. It was beautiful!
