These materials have already made a huge impact on both student learning and our classroom environment. My students were incredibly excited when they first saw the new headphones, sensory tools, colorful writing supplies, and phonics materials arrive. Many immediately asked when they would get to use them and were eager to explore the new learning tools together.\r\n\r\nThe classroom headphones with microphones have been especially valuable during technology-based learning activities. Students use them during reading and math programs, independent research, listening centers, and online intervention activities. The microphones have also helped students participate more confidently during speaking and recording tasks. For many students, having their own set of headphones reduces distractions and helps them stay focused and engaged for longer periods of time. I have several students who can become overwhelmed by classroom noise, so the noise-reducing headphones and sensory tools have created a calmer and more supportive learning environment where students can better regulate their emotions and attention.\r\n\r\nThe dry-erase markers, sound box mats, folders, sticky notes, pens, and kinetic sand have also transformed our small group instruction and hands-on learning opportunities. Students love practicing phonics skills with the sound boxes and dry-erase materials because it makes learning feel interactive and fun. The kinetic sand and sensory fidgets have been especially helpful for students who benefit from movement and tactile input while learning. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who typically struggles to remain engaged independently use the sound box mats and sensory tools to successfully work through a reading activity with confidence and excitement.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, students will use these resources during literacy intervention groups, independent technology activities, social-emotional learning breaks, and collaborative classroom projects. Your generosity is helping create a classroom that is engaging, supportive, and responsive to the diverse needs of all learners. Thank you for investing in my students and helping them feel successful, comfortable, and excited to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1768594351531,"projectUrl":"project/calm-focused-and-ready-to-learn/9980845/","projectTitle":"Calm, Focused, and Ready to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Guerino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9481079"},{"teacherId":9481079,"projectId":9673389,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has become a calmer, more engaging, and more supportive learning environment for my students. From the moment the boxes arrived, my students were filled with excitement and curiosity. They immediately noticed the colorful new materials and could not wait to explore everything together.\r\n\r\nThe breathing balls, emotion plush toys, Breathing Pal, and social-emotional book set have quickly become meaningful tools in our calm-down corner and during daily check-ins. Students especially love using the breathing balls during mindfulness breaks and transitions throughout the day. One of my favorite moments was watching students independently choose calming tools and practice coping strategies with peers during a challenging afternoon. These resources are helping students build emotional awareness, self-regulation, and confidence in expressing their feelings in healthy ways.\r\n\r\nThe new easel, sand tray, graph paper, tracing pads, and colorful paper have also transformed our academic instruction. Students are using the easel during small group lessons, collaborative writing activities, and math problem solving. The sand tray has been especially helpful for students practicing letter formation, spelling patterns, and number writing in a hands-on way. My students were so excited to take turns working at the easel and using the bright new supplies that learning immediately felt more engaging and interactive.\r\n\r\nIn addition to supporting instruction, the organizational materials and air purifier have made our classroom feel safer, cleaner, and more structured. The caddies, binders, and folders are helping students stay organized and independent throughout the day, while the air purifier has helped create a fresher classroom environment for all learners.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, students will use these materials during literacy centers, small group intervention lessons, social-emotional learning activities, and collaborative projects. Your support has made a meaningful difference in my students' daily learning experience. With the new dividers, my students are now able to focus better and complete independent work without the worry of comparing themselves to others. It's been wonderful to see them more confident and engaged, knowing they have their own personal space to concentrate and do their best work.\r\n\r\nThe floor map puzzle has quickly become a favorite activity in our room. It gives my students a fun and interactive way to develop their map skills while working together hands-on. The highlighters are also being put to great use every day—they've become an essential part of our reading and writing routines, helping students identify key information in articles and improve their comprehension.\r\n\r\nYour kindness and generosity have truly enriched our classroom environment. This resource has already made a meaningful difference in how my students learn and engage each day. We use the easel during small-group instruction to model strategies step-by-step, work through problems together, and give students a clear visual to reference while they practice independently. It has become a central part of our daily routines, especially for lessons that require explicit instruction and visual support.\r\n\r\nWhen the easel arrived, my students were immediately excited and eager to use it. They love being able to come up, write, draw, and explain their thinking in front of their peers. Having a dedicated space for shared learning has increased participation and confidence, especially for students who benefit from hands-on and visual learning opportunities.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using the whiteboard easel to support reading, writing, and math instruction. It will play an important role in upcoming lessons where we practice problem-solving strategies, organize ideas for writing, and review key skills in small groups.
