We ended the year last year putting our new play materials to great use and at the beginning of this school I was able to introduce the materials right away in our play centers. The dramatic play food has been so high interest, as well as the play dough tools! We also were able to expand our class train table in a big way, including using the people and cars to create a community. \r\n\r\nThe day we opened the boxes as a class, the children were so excited to see the gifts sent to us. The smiles and eagerness to play as I pulled each material out was so special to watch. I look forward to the continued use of our materials and to elevate our play year after year in Kindergarten.\r\n\r\nThank you again!","fullyFundedDate":1743276593881,"projectUrl":"project/kindergarten-creativity-play-based-lear/9052448/","projectTitle":"Kindergarten Creativity: Play Based Learning Centers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brenner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7061787_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1578629479352","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7061787"},{"teacherId":4521981,"projectId":8550658,"letterContent":"I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your generous donation to our classroom through DonorsChoose. Thanks to your support, we now have a new drying rack and five light boxes that have made a world of difference in our art room. These resources are not just helping with organization—they're actively enhancing my students' creativity and the quality of their work.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the drying rack and light boxes, my students have been able to store and organize their artwork more efficiently, creating a smoother classroom workflow. The drying rack has allowed us to work on multiple projects at once, keeping the space neat and giving each piece the room to dry without the risk of smudging or mixing. The light boxes, meanwhile, have become a favorite tool for tracing, designing, and experimenting with new techniques. I've seen students use them for everything from stenciling and creating detailed sketches to working on calligraphy and design projects. It's been amazing to watch their confidence grow as they explore new art forms!\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They couldn't wait to try out the light boxes and immediately began discussing their ideas for how they would use them. There's a palpable sense of pride in the room, knowing that their creativity is supported by such thoughtful gifts. The light boxes have given them the ability to focus on finer details in their drawings, and the drying rack allows us to manage multiple layers of paint or ink without interruption. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has already made a significant impact on our art room, and the ripple effect will continue as the students explore new artistic techniques and finish even more creative projects in the coming months. Thank you again for supporting the arts and making a difference in the lives of my students. We are still working hard to come out of the darkness from Covid. The ability to bring in individualized STEM projects through Lego has been incredible for my kids. The projects that you provided and funded have allowed my students through small snippets of time a chance to relax, think and be in their own heads. It's important that they have a safe, educational outlet for time to get some rest. \r\n\r\nThe Stem projects through Lego are incredible for adding a breathe of problem solving using calculations, trial and error and scientific thinking. Students worked alone and in small groups during small periods of time when they were done with their work.
