Your donation provided the foundation we needed to build a fully student-run, no-cost shop that gives every student access to clothing, shoes, jewelry, and even small home goods. Inspired by your contribution, staff and friends eagerly joined in by donating high-quality items, expanding our inventory and ensuring that the shop is always stocked with fresh finds. Students have taken ownership from the start, thoughtfully organizing donations and creating displays that are both accessible and appealing.\r\nYour support has empowered our students to become leaders and problem-solvers. They collaborated with our student news station to promote the shop, request essential supplies like hangers and donations, and teach others how to access our services. One of our club members even helped establish our hours of operation and another sparked the idea for a mobile thrift shop. This led to the creation of rolling racks filled with seasonal and high-need items—such as winter coats and uniform pants—that are set out during lunch waves in the busiest area of the school. Because of this innovation, we have already provided at least 15 coats to students and staff this winter, helped students avoid being dress-coded, and even supported athletes who forgot practice gear.\r\nYour contribution is doing more than stocking a closet—it's building confidence, community, and opportunity. Our students are developing organizational, communication, and customer-service skills, all while making a meaningful difference in the lives of their peers. With continued support, we hope to grow our social media presence, increase donations, and one day expand into a larger space. Thank you for believing in our students and helping us bring this vision to life.","fullyFundedDate":1759165615304,"projectUrl":"project/getting-thrifty/9550998/","projectTitle":"Getting Thrifty","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. S.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/235261"},{"teacherId":1975175,"projectId":8638165,"letterContent":"So many thanks for the bottom of my heart and the bottom of the countless tummies you have helped soothe. The snacks may have come and gone, but the gratitude remains. With your help I have been able to provide snacks for many of our students and keep them in school.\r\nMany of the stomachaches and snack requests I get have more depth than just a need for a snack; often times the student may be experiencing anxiety and not understand the feeling. Having snacks on hand gives me an opportunity to provide the treat and educate them on feelings and how their bodies may respond. It gives me time to explore what may be going on in their lives and teach them coping mechanisms. \r\nI truly love my job and working with these children. Being able to provide them with snacks also provides them a safe space to explore their emotions and self regulate.\r\nI am beyond grateful. Is that Neon Genesis Evangelion on that table??? When did you get it? You remembered that I wanted it and asked for it back in the fall??? Can I borrow it now? Can I borrow all three at once?\"\r\n\r\nThat, dear donors, is the type of conversation I looooove having with my students. Seeing their smiles because someone listened and came through when they had what they thought was a silly request for a series of books. I don't exactly know what \"Neon Genesis Evangelion\" is about, but I do know that several students' faces lit up when they heard I bought the books and that is enough for me. More students have been walking through my doors since I have expanded my collection. I'm not breaking any circulation records (yet!), but I work at a fairly small high school. I'm happy with the progress we are making. I was just speaking to a fellow librarian who cannot get students to borrow books. She had twelve checkouts in the last three months. I am so happy that my space has become busier.\r\n\r\nI attribute the increase in circulation and all those happy, manga-loving smiles to you, the strangers I will never meet, but are willing to donate funds to someone like me and my students. My students and I thank you from the bottoms of my hearts for donating to our love for reading.","fullyFundedDate":1734308072669,"projectUrl":"project/a-hunger-for-new-books/8939043/","projectTitle":"A Hunger for New Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reilly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7108227_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1709319341057","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7108227"},{"teacherId":9840707,"projectId":8949466,"letterContent":"Our Unified PE Class is already half way done!
