The creative process is a journey that allows students to explore an aspect of problem-solving that most other subjects are not able to.\r\n\r\nHaving a color laser printer donated to us for our art studio, has helped my students learn by making creative work more accessible, engaging, and interactive. It gave them immediate opportunities to explore ideas, practice skills, and see concepts come to life in a more visual and hands-on way. \r\nWhat excites my students most is that the laser printer delivers immediately and is empowering. They are eager to use tools that make learning feel more real, creative, and student-centered. They love being able to experiment, make choices, and see instant results from their efforts.\r\n\r\nIt has been especially encouraging to watch students who need additional support, including multilingual learners and students who may struggle with confidence, become more willing to participate, take creative risks, and share their ideas. For many, this resource has become more than just a convenience—it has become a necessity.\r\n\r\nEach day, students who might otherwise go without lunch are stopping by the counseling office to grab a quick meal or snack. Whether due to financial challenges, busy schedules, or personal circumstances, these students now have access to nourishment that helps them get through the school day. \r\n\r\nWhat stands out most is the students' reaction. Many are genuinely in awe of the availability and variety of food. Their gratitude is heartfelt and often expressed in simple but powerful ways—smiles and quiet words of appreciation. \r\n\r\nWe are deeply grateful for this generosity. The impact reaches far beyond hunger—it supports students' well-being, dignity, and ability to succeed each day.","fullyFundedDate":1771677845744,"projectUrl":"project/hungry-students/10094119/","projectTitle":"Hungry Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Alonzi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8795908_orig.jpg?crop=1105,1105,x0,y397&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667478854383","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8795908"},{"teacherId":1977103,"projectId":9886909,"letterContent":"My students are using the new resources to make our science lessons much more interactive and hands-on. One recent activity involved students creating models of molecules and chemical bonding using Play-Doh. Instead of only reading about how atoms share or transfer electrons, students were able to physically build models and visualize how the atoms connect. This helped them better understand concepts like covalent and ionic bonding while working collaboratively with their classmates.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were excited and curious. Many of them immediately started brainstorming how they could use the Play-Doh to represent atoms, molecules, and chemical structures. The glue sticks have also helped students keep their interactive notebooks organized so they can easily reference important diagrams, notes, and models from our lessons.\r\n\r\nThanks to these materials, students are becoming more confident explaining scientific ideas and engaging in discussions with their peers. Our next steps are to continue using these resources as we explore how molecular structure affects properties like polarity, intermolecular forces, and solubility. Students will build and test models, analyze real-world examples, and apply their understanding to explain why certain substances dissolve in water while others do not.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped create a classroom environment where students can explore science through hands-on learning and meaningful collaboration. This technology helps make learning more engaging, interactive, and accessible for all students, especially those who benefit from visual support. Your contribution directly enhances the quality of instruction and helps create a more inclusive and effective learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe document camera allows me to model skills, share student work, and guide students step-by-step through complex concepts. Because of your generosity, students can see that their ideas matter and that their learning is supported by a wider community that believes in their success.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and their future. The technology allowed them to explore topics they were genuinely interested in and explain their learning using both words and drawings.
