As a teacher, creating an environment where children feel emotionally safe is just as important as creating one where they can academically grow, and your generosity has helped me do exactly that.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new rug and sensory toys, their excitement was priceless! They were eager to touch, explore, and discover the different sensory materials, and they immediately embraced the cozy new space. We now use our calming area throughout the day when students need a moment to breathe, reset, or manage big emotions. The rug has also become a special place for us to gather for stories, conversations, and small-group learning. Watching my students learn to recognize their feelings and independently choose a calming strategy has been such a meaningful experience.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue teaching our scholars how to identify and communicate their emotions while building positive strategies for self-regulation. This calming space will be an important part of that journey. Your donation has helped me create more than a classroom resource—it has created a place where my students can slow down, feel safe, and return to learning with confidence.
