Your kindness is going to make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of my students. The calming sticker strips, weighted stuffed animal, squishy sensory disc, and wonderful new books such as \"The Invisible String,\" \"More Than Words,\" and \"The Power to Choose\" books you've provided will support my students in ways that go far beyond academics. Many of my learners need help regulating their emotions and refocusing their energy throughout the school day. These materials give them tools to breathe, reset, and feel safe enough to learn.\r\nI have already witnessed students utilizing a calming strip or squishy disc during tough moments and holding the weighted stuffed animal when the have big students. The new stories also bring excitement to learning and developing new skills such as decision making. Because of your donation, you have brought peace and comfort into my room. The joy is evident on their faces as we explore a timely social studies or science topic together. Each weekly paper edition of this magazine is accompanied by an interesting introductory educational video, digital copy, game, and/or dance party brain break session. The children are learning so much about the world around them, as well as them selves. I love hearing them reading along with the digital reader. Their discussions around topics are amazingly deep for six and seven year olds! This is all a result of your generosity. Boys and girls were thrilled to create beautiful wind chimes for their Mothers for Mother's Day! The class made pin wheels and windmills to go along with stories we were reading. Even though the money was not used for the original project, it was used for materials that were desperately needed in the classroom.\r\nI tried my best to get the garden project off the ground, but I was met with many obstacles along the way. Let's just say it didn't go over as well as anticipated. That is how I ended up using your funds for the newest and greatest (LOL) project.\r\nThe students are using technology more and more. Many students cannot afford headphones that don't break the minute they are taken out of the package. They don't cancel classroom noise during testing. I used the money to purchase 18 noise canceling headphones. I also purchased a very large bottle of hand sanitizer. \r\nYour help was certainly appreciated.","fullyFundedDate":1736437890662,"projectUrl":"project/best-tools/9032282/","projectTitle":"Best Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shekleton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5498321_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y504&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723120609466","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5498321"},{"teacherId":9459000,"projectId":9003598,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous contribution to Social Emotional Tools to Grow! The book sets and match up cards help create an engaging environment, where children can explore their feelings, practice empathy, and build essential life skills. Thanks to your generous support, my students now have access to tools that are helping them grow both emotionally and socially. These resources have opened up conversations about emotions and decision making through stories that reflect experiences which students can truly connect with.\r\n\r\nReading looks a little different in my space. Sometimes it's one-on-one, where I find myself sitting quietly with a student who's having a tough day and just letting the story offer comfort or connection. Other times, it's a small group exploring themes like friendship or perseverance, using characters as a starting point to talk about other struggles students might be having. The Kindness books and Little Spot of Emotions box set are wonderful tools to help spark group discussions where students can reflect and learn from each other. Students who struggle with managing conflicts with others are able to use the Match-Ups cards as a hands-on activity to help visualize cause and effect.
