Students will be able to use seating that will help them concentrate and produce their best work. Having students move around the room and find spots that are quiet and private provides them with the opportunity to make 'good choices'. They are encouraged not to seek out their friends because they want to be able to stay in that spot and they know they are expected to work. If it becomes a distraction, then they have to go back to their seats. It holds the student accountable. I found that the majority of the students enjoyed having a different spot to create, read, and think. The option to stay in their seat is always there. I noticed that even my most hesitant and reluctant writers and readers flourished when they got to sit somewhere different.
