Because of your generosity, 95 students have been able to experience a direct hands on experience of the eyes and heart components and have been excited to come to class and dig into new materials. The spark in the their eyes and the excitement in their voices has made it so rewarding in class. Knowing that we may have sparked interest in the medical field at such a young age is a blessing. I hear from parents who share stories of their kids coming home and willingly telling stories of what they did in science class today and are filled with joy.\r\n\r\nThey have also loved trying their hands at the construction piece of energy and how it is transferred through those kits you supported. The problem solving skills have increased as they have had to study the directions and back track each step to see why it didn't work the first time. The pride they feel once they solve the problem and share the process with the other students in class is amazing to watch. I love lab days when we get to break out these tools as a lesson in real life to make science work.","fullyFundedDate":1727462904211,"projectUrl":"project/study-today-doctors-tomorrow/8571512/","projectTitle":"Study Today-Doctors Tomorrow","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Oakley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9242641"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_127780","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":180,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":26,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":86,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.3,"schoolId":127780,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Merit Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Merit Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/woodland-park-sch-dist-re-2/merit-academy/127780"}
