Thanks to your kindness, our students now have a beautifully designed calming corner, complete with weighted blankets, pillows, stress-relief tools, fidgets, and interactive posters that promote mindfulness and emotional regulation.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their eyes lit up with excitement and curiosity. Many immediately gravitated to the calming corner, exploring the fidgets and stress relievers, while others admired the cozy blankets and pillows that make the space so inviting. One student shared, \"This feels like a safe place where I can take a breath when I'm overwhelmed.\" Your generosity has truly created a sanctuary within our classroom.\r\n\r\nThese resources have already made a significant impact. For example, during a recent group activity, one student who struggles with anxiety found comfort in using the calming corner to decompress. After just a few minutes with the weighted blanket and a sensory fidget, they were able to return to the group with a calm mind and fully engage in the lesson. Moments like these are becoming more frequent, and it's inspiring to see how these tools are empowering students to take charge of their emotional well-being.\r\n\r\nAs we continue to integrate these resources into our daily routines, we've also been weaving social-emotional learning into our curriculum. For instance, we're starting a project focused on building self-awareness and empathy, where students will use the interactive posters to reflect on their feelings and practice mindfulness techniques. These activities are helping our students develop skills that will not only benefit them in school but throughout their lives.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has provided more than just materials—it's given my students the tools to manage their emotions and build a positive classroom community. Thank you for being part of this transformative journey. Your support has made an incredible difference, and we're excited to share updates as we continue to grow and learn together.","fullyFundedDate":1727462945111,"projectUrl":"project/sel-lo-to-social-and-emotional-learning/8577277/","projectTitle":"SEL-LO to Social and Emotional Learning in 3rd Grade!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Karlee Martinez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9633303"},{"teacherId":6376982,"projectId":8561453,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredibly impactful donations! The cozy area isn't the only area that has benefited from this project either. We have been able to put pictures of students learning and engaging with the curriculum all around the classroom as well! We have also been able to make more connections between the classroom and home by sending the pictures of students home, or creating meaningful collages of each student. having a picture printer has brought a great deal of excitement into our classroom and we have many families who are grateful for the pictures that are captured. \r\nWe have gotten so much use out of the laminator as well!
