My students were so excited when they saw all of our new materials and were so excited to put them to use. In the short amount of time we've had them, my students have used LED boards during our UFLI lessons, we've used the spaceman for writing sentences and handwriting practice, expo markers with whiteboards for practicing high frequency words, and individual students have used the visual timers to help improve time on task. \r\nThe materials from the project have made learning more engaging for my students and have also helped to create a welcoming and safe learning environment. In a short few months, we have already been using this system every day inside of most every class! So many students have benefitted from this project, and my students are able to sing while being on a microphone which both teaches them about technology and helps save their voices and sing in a safe manner, without needing to yell loudly. \r\n\r\nLast week, my students asked if we could learn a popular song from the Minecraft movie, and within 12 minutes, they learned it and then we had a small performance in our classroom using the new microphones. Students love using them for all types of reasons. What they seem to enjoy most is the different colors as they write their math facts, work math problems, or brainstorm writing ideas. One of the best things about using the LCD boards is it conserves on paper and is way more fun than using traditional paper pencil or whiteboards and dry erase markers. \r\n\r\nDue to the holidays and testing I haven't been able to utilize the Finding Evidence Comprehension kits. However, they are sitting on a table and have prompted a lot of questions and excitement. They are eager to dive in when we return from winter break. The kits utilize dry erase pages so they save on paper. They provide three levels of nonfiction and fiction reading passages, allowing for all readers to participate. These kits will reinforce what we are learning and reinforce skills in time for state testing.\r\n\r\nI feel very blessed to have received these resources for my classroom. Students need a variety of ways to keep their interest and attention. These resources help with that.
