As of right now the extent of science equipment my fourth graders have available to learn about electricity and circuits are two wires, a battery, and one bulb per 6 students. The Snap Circuit kits will allow students the opportunity to explore the flow of currents. I hope to give all of my students a more inquiry-based experience, through the use of Snap Circuit kits, that will teach them about circuits and electricity in a way that they actually able to apply it. These rural 4th graders can't wait to explore and experience electricity through the Snap Circuit kits. The benefits of this type of inquiry-based approach completely replaces the limited battery and wires that we currently have available as our only electricity and circuit investigation equipment.
