Students were drawn to the panda rug and weighted panda plush, which quickly became part of our daily regulation routine. One student who often struggles to remain seated during small-group literacy instruction chose one of the new chairs and was able to stay focused and engaged for the entire lesson—something that had previously been very difficult. During transitions and movement breaks, students explored the sensory floor tiles, using the tactile input to reset their bodies before returning to learning. These resources are now used throughout the day to support attention, emotional regulation, and learning.\r\n\r\nStudents were excited and curious when they first saw the materials. Smiles, questions, and eager hands filled the room as they explored the new seating options and sensory tools. Beyond the initial excitement, many students showed immediate comfort and ownership, independently choosing spaces and supports that helped them feel safe and ready to learn. The panda-themed items were especially comforting, helping students associate the classroom with warmth and security.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these resources will continue to play an essential role in our literacy and social-emotional learning instruction. Students are learning to recognize their own sensory and emotional needs and to select the tools that help them stay regulated and engaged. With these supports in place, we are able to increase meaningful instructional time, strengthen self-regulation skills, and maintain a sensory-responsive environment where every student feels supported and prepared to learn each day.","fullyFundedDate":1755698267085,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-supports-for-student-success/9535167/","projectTitle":"Sensory Supports for Student Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Madison","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9250574_orig.png?crop=354,354,x0,y61&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693596759784","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9250574"},{"teacherId":9250574,"projectId":9604527,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for providing our classroom with a laptop to support financial literacy skills for my K–5 special education students.
