Your generosity has had a tremendous impact on their learning. With this laptop, my students have been able to explore interactive budgeting activities, practice online banking simulations, and engage in money management lessons in ways that are accessible, engaging, and tailored to their unique learning needs.\r\n\r\nBecause of this laptop, I have been able to provide individualized instruction, allowing each student to work at their own pace and master important concepts. We've been able to track progress, reinforce skills in real time, and introduce more hands-on, technology-based activities that weren't possible before. My students are gaining confidence and independence, learning skills that will help them manage money and make thoughtful financial decisions in the future.\r\n\r\nYour support has truly transformed our classroom, making learning meaningful and empowering for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1755521829182,"projectUrl":"project/building-money-skills-for-life-in-specia/9604527/","projectTitle":"Building Money Skills for Life in Special Education","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Madison","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9250574_orig.png?crop=354,354,x0,y61&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693596759784","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9250574"},{"teacherId":5272706,"projectId":9225604,"letterContent":"As you probably already know - reading and therefore books are ESSENTIAL to a thriving classroom. The students I work with are thrilled with the new flexible seating option and especially enjoy the critical/creative thinking activities in two of the books provided. I requested these books as a way to give students access to challenging problem solving if they complete a task early, what I did not anticipate was the number of students requesting these packets on a regular basis, even if it means they take them home to work on them! They love the unique structure of the activities and the mix between critical and creative problems.\r\n The book \"Brilliant Activities for Stretching Gifted and Talented Children\" has also been a huge success with the students I work with. This book has options for students to extend their creative problem solving skills in math, reading, writing, and overall problem solving. One of the favorite activities so far was revamping the story \"Goldilocks and the Three Bears\" into the year 3082 in space. The main details of the story had to remain the same, but students were tasked with identifying key details that could be changed into a more futuristic idea to create a story that future kids living in space could enjoy. Another great activity in this book was the \"What can you do with a hanger?\" This activity worked on overall creative thinking, students could bend, unbend, twist, and change a coat hanger in many different ways to create a new use for the hanger. Some interesting ideas were: a key chain, a bracelet, a back scratcher, and a fairy light holder for a bedroom wall.\r\n In the book I received for my own personal learning, \"The Learner-Directed Classroom\" I have gained knowledge and examples about striving for an autonomous model, where students truly drive their product work. This book has given me ideas to consider wrapped around time management, product ideas, self reflection, and self assessment. The author gives practical and realistic advice about how to start transitioning ones planning into a learner-centered environment, where students control how they demonstrate their knowledge. I appreciate the author's realistic approach with this book. \r\n Thank you again for providing my students and me the chance to learn and grow in a creative way!","fullyFundedDate":1727984847238,"projectUrl":"project/we-love-creative-problem-solving/8843391/","projectTitle":"We Love Creative Problem-Solving","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McGowan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9314015_orig.jpg?crop=273,273,x121,y375&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696270723407","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9314015"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32405","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":428,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":63,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":33,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":70.1,"schoolId":32405,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pear Park Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pear Park Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/mesa-county-valley-school-district-51/pear-park-elementary-school/32405"}
