Sunshine day is a day where students totally unplug from academic work and take a few minutes for themselves. We played games, we made lemonade, I gave out stickers. Mostly I saw students relax and just be kids for a period.\r\n\r\nHigh schoolers take 8 classes a day, most have an activity, sport, or job they also go to. They are under a lot of pressure so this day means a small window where none of that mattered. Kids were so excited to do a giant crossword, to do a giant mural, to challenge each other in Uno, to play trivia against me, to have a little snack.
