Your contribution has done so much more than provide us with materials; it has helped us create a true sense of belonging in our classroom community.\r\n\r\nMy students and I were so excited when we got the packages. Receiving these materials truly makes the students feel seen and valued. It is great to know that others prioritize their learning! \r\n\r\nThe vacuum, label maker, and carpet grips you helped fund have given my students a sense of ownership and responsibility for our shared space. It's a small thing, but it helps them take their learning more serious when they can take pride in keeping our room clean and organized. This has helped make our classroom space feel more like their home away from home.\r\n\r\nThe air freshening oils have made our classroom smell amazing!! It's amazing how a simple, good scent can contribute to a calm and welcoming atmosphere, making our room a place where students feel relaxed and ready to learn - rather than the sewage smell our building is used to. The additional games and supplies allowed students to connect over art and group activities. This helps students feel more comfortable at school and encourages them to show up each day! \r\n\r\nYour kindness has had a huge impact on our classroom! Thanks again for helping make our school feel like a place where they belong.","fullyFundedDate":1741046854903,"projectUrl":"project/metal-health-supports-for-a-better-learn/8931314/","projectTitle":"Metal Health Supports for a Better Learning Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Houck","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7783975_orig.jpg?crop=2988,2988,x0,y906&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1615054206246","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7783975"},{"teacherId":9242570,"projectId":8946637,"letterContent":"Our school and community have experienced quite a few difficult circumstances. These circumstances have impacted the emotional well-being of the students. Because of this, we have made additional efforts to help our students feel safe and connected. We want the students to feel supported in ways that help them help each other.\r\n\r\nBecause of that, we have been working on using positive messaging throughout the school and in the areas on the campus near our school. One of the ways we have supported the goal of positive messaging was through the stepping stones activity, which was funded by Donors Choose. \r\n\r\nEvery advisory/crew class was provided the materials to make their own stepping stones with various positive messages. After the students completed these, we had a little ceremony where we all went outside to place the stepping stones in areas where students commonly walk on campus. (Some photos from the ceremony are also being shared.) These stepping stones are now a permanent source of kind words that our students see every single day. We appreciate the funding for this project.","fullyFundedDate":1741046854935,"projectUrl":"project/positive-message-stepping-stones/8946637/","projectTitle":"Positive Message Stepping Stones","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Searing","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9242570"},{"teacherId":9247736,"projectId":9005361,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous gifts! These gifts have had a profound impact on the learning environment and engagement. I have several students with autism and behavioral difficulties, and having sensory items like moving water, the jellyfish moving mimicking movement in nature, and the light sand painting box have provided in class opportunities for my students to de-escalate so much more quickly. \r\n\r\n I do not think pictures could accurately capture the excitement and joy my students exuded when they came into class as we were unpacking the new items. For the three water based items, my students stared mesmerized and enthralled by these new additions. The additions to our de-escalation station and the feelings chart have been instrumental in helping my students to identify how they are feeling and strategies for regulation. Thank you again for your generosity and willingness to help my diverse learners have a better educational experience.","fullyFundedDate":1739034127297,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-room-for-students-with-disabilit/9005361/","projectTitle":"Sensory Room for Students With Disabilities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Abdol","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9247736_orig.jpg?crop=956,956,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734111595564","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9247736"},{"teacherId":9293716,"projectId":8913017,"letterContent":"We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and support through DonorsChoose. Your contributions allowed us to purchase much-needed coloring supplies, including markers and coloring books, which have made a meaningful difference in our students' well-being. These supplies provide a creative and calming outlet for students who feel overwhelmed, giving them a chance to refocus and return to their learning with a fresh mindset. The impact of these simple tools has been profound, helping students manage stress in a healthy and productive way.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the coloring supplies, your donation helped us purchase board games for our homeroom class, CREW. These games have become a valuable way for students to connect, build relationships, and develop a sense of community within our school. Through play, students have learned teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, all while having fun and strengthening their bonds with peers and teachers. Your generosity has fostered a more inclusive and welcoming environment where students feel safe and supported.\r\n\r\nFinally, your support made it possible for us to create and send postcards to students who are absent, reminding them that they are missed and that they matter. The stamps we purchased ensured that every student, no matter the reason for their absence, receives a message of encouragement and belonging. Your kindness has extended beyond the classroom, reinforcing the message that every student is an important part of our school community.
