Several were workbooks that allowed me to create hands on activities for my students. These books, such as, Apraxia Carryover Worksheets, R Sound Chaining, and Phonology Stories and Activities have been a wonderful addition to my therapy sessions. These activities are engaging for students, provide hands on practice, and result in a product the students can take home to share with parents. The students have really enjoyed these activities and talk about taking them home and discussing them with their families. This will help support the student in working on their speech skills at home.\r\nI also received two figurative language games that have been amazing for my older students. Both provide turn taking opportunities to discuss and problem solve higher level language concepts. They both have provided multiple opportunities to work on concepts such as idioms and metaphors, which can be very difficult for students with language impairments to understand.\r\nAll of the materials purchased through Donors Choose have enhanced my speech therapy sessions with all my students. They have increased engagement, which has improved overall communication skills.
