This year, like never before, I will be "live" teaching in my classroom with no students sitting at my feet on the carpet most of the year. They will be listening and learning through technology. I am looking to add books about diversity to my classroom library for my students. It's important that the diverse and multicultural books in my classroom not only feature various types of diversity, but also promote social change. With all of the social issues going on in our country today, it's important that we embrace the times and encourage students to love and accept themselves as well as others. By adding these books to my classroom library, I hope to motivate my children to welcome others into our classroom community who might not look exactly like them and take what they learn and carry it with them.
