My students were excited to come in to school and see an array of new and interesting materials on the shelf. I have observed them using the different connectors, which requires precision and fine motor abilities, in addition to construction of their ideas. They've also loved becoming \"emotion detectives\" with the little spots of feelings. We were able to get photos of various emotions and use the new laminator to laminate these images. They match the facial expressions to the different emotion spots and help identify their own and others' emotions. The finger mazes have been great tools for our peace corner where they can go when they need time to themselves. And the books have been helpful to introduce ways to manage big feelings. The magnetiles are also a huge hit! We have used the phoneme-segmenting cards to support our emerging readers with the skill to break words into individual sounds, which will help their development of reading. We discussed how these items were purchased by a considerate donor and what they would want the donor to know.
